Currently reading Phantasma by Kaylie Smith and I’m hooked! This dark fantasy has me completely enchanted, but it’s Orphelia who’s truly stolen my heart. She’s strong, brave, and loyal—reminding me so much of Scarlet from Caraval. The kind of heroine who carries the weight of the world for the people she loves, especially her sister. It’s still early in the book, but I’m loving the journey so far.
I finally picked up The City of Gods and Monsters by Kayla Edwards… and I have one question: why did I let this sit on my TBR for so long?! I haven’t been this excited about a book in ages—this one has its claws in me already. I ended up switching Phantasma to Audible so I could dive into City of Gods and Monsters on my Kindle, and wow, I’m hooked. Loren is such an intriguing character—a human trying to survive in a supernatural world where humans are barely respected. Her sister is a powerful witch, and Loren’s always been in her shadow. I’m really hoping we see her grow into a bold, courageous force of her own. Let’s go, girl!
